Craig was able to fix my laptop in a day, no hourly charge though it was not an easy fix, I highly recommend The Eldest Geek. Price was very reasonable. They can fix any computer problem !

Craig did an excellent job diagnosing the issue – when my computer proved not to be worth fixing, he sold me a better used one for cheap, and spent hours setting it up and transferring over my data for no extra charge! Would highly recommend.

My macbook pro 2011’s logic board died, and of course apple failed to notify people they were fixing it for free up until literally this year. Craig worked on the repair, and while at it also upgraded my RAM and hardrive to an SSD for a very reasonable price. It roars like a lion now, couldnt be happier. Very simple operation on the second floor of a great antique shop. Save the over whelming swarm of employees in blue shirts, table tops full of the lastest gagets, and a bar full of young cocky techs that diagnose your computer using a 30 second test. Craig has been working on Apple computers since the company's infancy. He has competitive prices and fixed my display issue on my MacBook in one business day, without the need to send my computer off for an indefinite amount of time as the Apple Store would have done. Although Macs are his specialty, he is also able to help with all makes and models as well. I'll definitely keep Craig, and The Eldest Geek, in mind for my future computer needs. Highly recommend!

He transferred all data from a damaged computer to a new computer. He did it while I waited. I was thoroughly pleased with the results.

This place is in an antique mall, so my expectation of a hi tech atmosphere were put to the test.

That said, these folks did exactly what they said they were going to do and did not charge me an arm and a leg. They even found an oddball issue with my computer and fixed that for free.

I've been there a few times now and can say that they are honest and knowledgeable. I've never gone away feeling like I'd been ripped off (which I cannot say about a certain big box extablishment that took me for $300+).

After several weeks of the screen on my laptop occasionally flickering when initially turning the computer on, the screen went completely black. The laptop would still power on but I was unable to see anything on the screen. After doing some trouble shooting I realized that I would need a professional to diagnose and fix the problem. I contacted a few local computer repair companies and Craig was the first person who had an available appointment. Craig spoke to me over the phone and provided some initial thoughts as to what might be causing the problem. He told me I could bring the laptop in and he would take a look and provide a free estimate of how much the repairs would cost. I spoke with Craig a few hours after dropping the computer off and he informed me that he had determined that the screen on the laptop needed to be replaced (approximate cost = $150.) He said he would check to see if he had a replacement screen in stock and could have the computer fixed and ready for pick up on Wednesday, if that would work for me. (I dropped the laptop off on Monday at 11 a.m. Craig’s company is closed on Tuesdays.) I explained that I was unavailable on Wednesday and, if possible, would really appreciate it if there was any way that the repair could be made ASAP so I could pick up the computer later on Monday. Craig said he would try to get it finished so I could pick up the computer later that day. Craig called at 4:30 on Monday – the same day I dropped off the computer – to let me know that the laptop screen had been replaced and the laptop was ready for pick up. Craig replaced the laptop screen and I am now able to fully use the laptop again. Very quick and affordable service with straightforward communication as to what to expect with regard to timing and price.

I will be returning to Top Tech for any future computer problems and recommending their services to anyone having issues.

About a month ago, I woke up one morning unable to power on my 4-5 year old laptop. Having a Geek Squad service coverage, I first took it to Best Buy to have them take a look. A costly, risky solution was offered, but I wasn’t fully convinced it was the only option.

After doing some research, I found Top Tech/The Eldest Geek and, impressed by reviews, decided to give them a call. I spoke with Alex, and after describing my problem and giving him my model information, he immediately gave me 3 or 4 possible issues that could be preventing my computer to start. It was evident that this guy knew his “you know what,” so I took a ride out to the Top Tech offices the next day for a free diagnostic.

In about 5 minutes, Alex found what the issue was and gave me an estimate, which would be for the actual work only and not a part that needed to be replaced. A few days later, he called and said it was all ready to go. The computer is now running better than before and Alex even replaced some loose screws free of charge, so it feels sturdier as well. All of this was done at a fraction of what Geek Squad was suggesting, which I’m not even sure would have worked and kept my data intact – something I stressed the importance of to Alex.

Since having this repair, I have also turned to Top Tech to complete a data transfer and replace a broken screen on my brother’s laptop. If you’re having a problem and feel like all hope is lost, give Top Tech a call. Their services helped me to avoid a major business and personal setback.

I am a small business owner and had some trouble with my main computer at work and I was going to miss payroll for my staff as well as not be able to fill a customer's order and Craig and his team saved the day! I am in home improvement and computers are my area of comfort. Craig took his time to help me understand what was happening and what he could do. I’d done business with Craig remotely. I needed to pickup a laptop from him, and my 2011 iMac needed some updates. The laptop was ready when I got there. The memory upgrade was done VERY quickly. The system “slowness” was due to the fact that my internal hard drive had some problems. The drive was replaced very quickly. They installed Yosemite on it, and all I had to was use my Time Machine backup to restore my data. These guys know their stuff, they’ve been at it for a LONG time. They have parts there, so some repairs (as mine) can be done while you wait. They have comfortable chairs to sit in, and many interesting things (including all kinds of vintage computer gear) to look at while you wait.

Great service, very knowledgable, has kept me and my family from wasting money on waisted repairs and sold us used computers which have and are still serving us well. When I’m in a computer pinch, craig is the first person I go to.

Amazing! I spilled (well my dog did) water on my computer. They actually gave me a trade-in for a better computer for a very low price, and had everything done, within two hours. This saved my life for a presentation. (I now live in Alexandria even though profile says CA.)
